Guinea pigs are small, stout rodents with a compact, rounded body shape, short legs and no tail that come in a variety of colours and coat lengths. These guys are social meaning they MUST be housed with other guinea pigs, at least in a pair, as in the wild, you'll see them living in herds. Guinea pigs can be wonderful, gentle, and social companions for humans, especially when handled regularly from a young age. They are known for their intelligence and can form strong bonds with their owners, often responding to their presence and even showing excitement, generally enjoy gentle interaction and can be very entertaining to watch. Typically guinea pigs live for 5-6 years, but some may live longer. Guinea pigs are active up to 20 hours per day and only sleep for short periods.
At Widmer feeds, when coming in for your Guinea pig(s), one of our staff will go through everything you need in order to house them and explain how to correctly care for one. this including their diet, handling, health .etc.
