The Sulcata tortoise, also known as the African spurred tortoise, is a large, herbivorous tortoise native to the arid regions of northern Africa. They are characterized by their sandy-coloured, oval-shaped shell, and distinctive spurs on their hind legs. These tortoises are unique due to being the third-largest tortoise species globally, with males reaching up to 30 inches (76 cm) in shell length and weighing up to 200 pounds (90 kg). From babies, these guys can take 25 years to grow to full size, which is why its important to provide plenty of space and the correct enclosure for them to thrive in. Sulcatas are known for their friendly and curious personalities and being able to form strong bonds with their owners. They can live for 50-100 years or even longer, making them a lifelong commitment
